Melinda Beck and Steven Imig spoke on March 16, 2010 at the Colorado Coalition of Land Trusts (CCLT) Annual Conference on the topic “Rights of Surface Owners under State Oil and Gas Rules and Strategies for Land Conservation Practitioners.”  Steve discussed the recently-adopted Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) rules, and Melinda discussed their application to conservation easement lands.  Melinda also gave a separate presentation on the topic “Conservation Easement Violations: Land Trust Litigation Case Study,” and discussed a recent lawsuit between landowners in which the land trust was holder of a conservation easement interest on the land.  DMLB provides comprehensive counsel on all of the areas of law addressed in these presentations, including conservation easements, mineral law, oil and gas developments, and real estate litigation.
