Iberdrola Renewable Energies and Xcel Energy recently announced their agreement to a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) under which (i) Iberdrola will build a 30 MW photo-voltaic solar energy farm near Alamosa, Colorado, and (ii) Public Service Company of Colorado dba Xcel Energy will purchase all power generated by the Project.  The expected Commercial Operation Date for the Project is late 2011.  Firm partner Bob Montgomery represented Xcel Energy in connection with the PPA and related financing issues.  Bob has significant experience representing equipment manufacturers, renewable energy developers, conventional energy producers, and off-takers in negotiating PPAs, financings, and other commercial transactions for wind, solar and conventional thermal electric generation facilities.
