James K. Aronstein is a director of Ducker, Montgomery, Aronstein & Bess, P.C. He practices in the areas of natural resources, mining and oil and gas, with an emphasis on domestic and international transactions. In addition to transactional work, including mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, he also represents clients before government agencies and in administrative litigation. Since 1981, he has represented clients in the mining and oil and gas industries, ranging from small independents to large multi-national corporations. Mr. Aronstein has almost three decades of experience in drafting and negotiating virtually every type of agreement utilized in the mining industry. During 1996-97, he was the director in charge of his law firm’s office in Santiago, Chile and represented clients with respect to projects through Latin America. He has continued to work on complex resource transactions throughout the world. Mr. Aronstein has also been significantly involved in the resolution of conflicts between coal and oil and gas operations. He received his A.B. degree, summa cum laude, in 1977 from Dartmouth College and his J.D., cum laude, in 1981 from Harvard Law School. Mr. Aronstein has served as a Trustee of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and has been named as one of The Best Lawyers in America for 14 consecutive years.
